About the Artist

Art is Long, and I Taste Paint.

about the artist:

Kyle Johnson is a twenty-something guy from the Midwest. Born in St. Louis, raised in St. Louis (and for a short time in California) by a car salesman and a piano teacher, Kyle has been making art and music for as long as he can remember. Originally a photography and music composition for film major, Kyle’s education took him to and away from various career paths, including psychology, interior design, and graphic design.

Kyle has been painting for a relatively short time, stumbling into it in the fall of 2009, and has been enjoying the ride since. He is currently venturing into ceramic work, and plans on experimenting with primitive building and firing techniques in the near future.

Kyle currently studies with Mark Weber and Sean Frye. He has also studied with Kevin Wilson.

He has exhibited work at Missouri State University, St. Louis Community College, and Art Saint Louis.

Kyle plans to continue his education, and has eventual plans to attend grad school.

For his day job, Kyle is the Production Designer/Art Director for New Standard Productions.

He also (occasionally) blogs at www.youareadouchebag.tumblr.com

Kyle is currently in the process of writing a book/novella, inspired by the early works of clive barker, and H.P. Lovecraft.
